Sacrament Plays At River City Slam
At their recent set in Milwaukee, Sacrament kept the focus exactly where it should be, on the music.
They walked on, got into position, and started. No drawn-out intro, no filler. The set built naturally, song by song, with the crowd getting closer to the stage as it went on. It wasn’t chaotic, it was controlled, and that’s what made it work.
Mateo Gelvis kept vocals steady while still carrying his guitar parts, not missing a beat between the two. Nolan Bahr stayed consistent the entire set, locking in with the rest of the band and keeping everything structured.
On drums, Mason Bahr held the pace the whole time. Nothing rushed, nothing dragging, just a solid backbone that lets the songs land the way they should. Simon Brand filled out the low end and kept everything sounding full, especially during the slower sections where it could’ve thinned out.
There wasn’t a lot of talking between songs, just quick transitions and straight into the next one. That helped the set feel continuous instead of broken up. Even toward the end, they didn’t lose momentum; they kept the same level the whole way through.
It wasn’t about trying to be the loudest or the most over-the-top band on the lineup. It was just tight, consistent, and clearly practiced. The kind of set where nothing feels out of place, and that’s exactly why it works.
